ある日、居酒屋で目に留まった、氷の上に並ぶ3匹のイワシ。
何気ない光景なのに、銀色に光る魚と氷の色、そこに差し込む光がとても綺麗で、思わず写真を撮りました。
日常の中でふと心に残ったものや、「これを描きたい」と感じた瞬間を、小さなキャンバスに残していく
「日常のカケラ / Fragments of Everyday Life」シリーズ。
その第1作として、この3匹のイワシを描きました。
タイトルは 「イワシ3」。
「3＝さん」で、“イワシさん” というちょっとした言葉遊びにもなっています
特別な場所や特別な出来事だけではなく、日常の中にある小さな美しさや面白さも、これから少しずつ作品として残していきたいと思っています。

Iwashi 3
One day at an izakaya, three sardines lying on a bed of ice caught my eye.
It was such an ordinary scene, but there was something beautiful about the silvery fish, the cool tones of the ice and the light reflecting across them. I immediately took a photo because I knew I wanted to paint it.
“Fragments of Everyday Life / Nichijō no Kakera” is a new series of small paintings inspired by ordinary things and little moments that unexpectedly catch my attention.
For the first piece in the series, I chose these three sardines.
The title, “Iwashi 3,” is also a small Japanese wordplay: the number 3 can be read as san, making the title sound like “Iwashi-san” — Mr./Ms. Sardine.
Not every memorable moment has to come from a special place or a big event. With this series, I hope to capture some of the small, beautiful and amusing fragments hidden in everyday life.
